How it works

By Erwin Wu · Updated 2026-09-21

VideoScript turns public video URLs, podcast episodes, or your uploaded audio files into complete, timecoded transcripts. Paste a link or upload a file, and keep a searchable transcript you can read, copy, or export into your notes and AI tools.

1. Submit your media: link or audio file

You have two easy ways to get started:

  • Paste a public link — Copy the URL of any public YouTube video, Apple Podcasts episode, Spotify episode, Bilibili video, or Xiaoyuzhou episode and paste it into the workspace.
  • Upload an audio file — Upload voice memos, recorded lectures, or podcast tracks directly. Supported formats include MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, OGG, OPUS, and FLAC (up to 100 MB and 120 minutes per file). Files are securely staged in private storage and physically deleted upon job completion.

New accounts receive 120 free Credits on signup — covering 2 full hours of media with no credit card required.

2. Fast, high-accuracy transcription

VideoScript extracts the audio, identifies speech segments, and aligns every line with an exact timestamp ([MM:SS]). Processing runs at roughly 50x real-time speed — a 60-minute discussion is ready in about 1.5 to 2 minutes.

3. Export and use your transcript

Read the transcript directly in your browser, copy plain text or Markdown, or download standard subtitle files (SRT / VTT). Failed tasks never consume Credits.
